St Aloysius Gonzaga School Team Explores Italy under the Student Exchange Programme

As a part of the Student-Exchange programme, the team from St Aloysius Gonzaga School visited Istituto Leone xiii, a Jesuit School in the city of Milan, Italy, from 26 April to 6 May 2024. Led by Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ and accompanied by Vice-principal and international collaboration coordinator Ms Aparna Suresh, Class XI and XII coordinator Deepa Karkada, and seven students of Class XII, the team was warmly received by Istituto Leone xiii. During their visit, the team engaged in various activities including lesson observations, group discussions, and familiarization with the school's facilities. Moreover, they had the opportunity to explore the vibrant culture of Milan and its renowned landmarks such as the Duomo Cathedral, famous cities; Venice, Verona, Como, the Polytechnic University of Milan-Wind Tunnel Centre and spend time with Italian families.  Professors Ms Marcella Valvo and Ms Sara Blandini facilitated classroom observations and local sightseeing. Italian students Mr Lombardi Valerio, Soldati Angelica, Asterite Ludovica and Marigliano Flaminia accompanied the Gonzaga team to give a homely touch.  The team had the privilege to meet Ms Silvana Rizzi who initiated E twinning projects with Leone xiii in 2015 and teacher of year 5, Ms Cristina Chiochio who worked on E Twinning projects. Prof Paolo Tenconi, project Manager briefed Gonzaga Team about their institution and city of Milan. The trip provided students with valuable insights into the city's education system, cuisine, and lifestyle, fostering cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two institutions.
