The first Alumni Meet was organized by St Aloysius Gonzaga School on 14 April, 2023 at Gonzaga Hall. The main objective of this Alumni Meet was to reconnect with the Alumni and facilitate, consolidate and coordinate Alumni activities in future. The program began with a prayer song sung by the teachers. To mark the beginning of the first Alumni Meet, lighting of the lamp was done by the dignitaries Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto SJ, Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Dr Richard Gonsalves, President of South Zone Jesuit Alumni and Former President of St Aloysius College Alumni Association, Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ, Principal of St Aloysius Gonzaga School, Ms Laurel Dsouza, Vice Principal and Alumni Representatives, Aaryan Shrivastav and Samridhi Salian. Ms Laurel Dsouza welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering to this momentous occasion.
A tribute was given to Dr B.R. Ambedkar on this occasion to observe the Ambedkar Jayanti, by offering flowers. Mr Aditya Shetty, PE Teacher highlighted the significance of Ambedkar Jayanthi. A video presentation on the achievements of the school in the past 10 years was presented to the students. Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ appreciated the Alumni for being a part of the Alumni meet and highlighted on the importance of beginning the First Alumni Meet at St Aloysius Gonzaga School. He emphasized on the four pillars of the Institution, Alumni being one of them, their role and importance. Dr Richard Gonsalves expressed his happiness to be a part of this Alumni Meet and appreciated the growth and development of the school since the Academic Year 2012-13. He highlighted that Alumni are the brand Ambassadors of the school and suggested many activities that the Alumni can take up in the years to come to build up this Alumni meet into a strong association. The Rector, Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto SJ addressed the gathering and was happy to see the Alumni coming back to school in good number and encouraged to be a part of this Institution. He said that the Institution will be open for reconnecting with students and bringing back the bond shared by the students with the Teachers which could be made strong and fruitful. He also gave some insights on how the Alumni can progress. Mr Alister Lasrado, music teacher conducted a few games followed by sharing of experiences and achievements by the Alumni. Principal had a discussion on few aspects of taking forward this Alumni meet in the coming years.
The programme was co-ordinated by Ms Deepa Karkada and Ms Shilpa Ballal along with the members of the Decennial committee. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Preethan Pereira and the programme was compered by Ms Vidya Esther. It was a great moment for everyone who witnessed this programme.
