Class IV Field Trip

Nothing beats an exciting hands-on experience to deepen learning and make it interactive and interesting. To provide such hands-on experience, St Aloysius Gonzaga School organized a field trip for class IV on 7th November 2022 to Karkala/Moodbidri. A total of 130 students, 6 teaching and 2 non-teaching staff left the school at 9:00 am after the assembly.

The students were first taken to Thousand Pillar Temple Moodbidri, followed by soans farm wherein they saw different kinds of plantations, trees, plants and leaves. Students acquired firsthand knowledge by witnessing the carvings on pillars at basadis. After this, the long walk of 212 steps to see the Gommateshwara Statue at Karkalawas exciting. They were amazed to spectate different kinds of vernacular houses and artefacts depicting the local folk cultures of DakshinaKannada at Koti Chennayya Theme Park. At last, they visited Horanadu Kodyadka Annapoorneshwari Temple and the group reached back school at 6:00 pm.

The field trip was indeed a break from the routine and an adventure that opened up children’s minds, to learn new things.
