'Jyothi Pradaan' Ceremony for Classes XII and X 2023-24

St Aloysius Gonzaga School held the "Jyothi Pradaan" ceremony for the outgoing Class XII and X students on 9 February 2024. The event was graced by Fr Melwin Pinto SJ, Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, along with Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ, Vice-principals Ms Laurel D'Souza and Ms Aparna Suresh and parents of the outgoing batches. In his address, the Rector emphasized the importance of upholding the school's values throughout life's journey and staying connected to one's roots and aspirations.

Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ spoke about the significance of "Jyothi Pradaan," urging students to not only illuminate their own lives but also the lives of others. Representatives from the graduating classes, Master Kyle Rian Correa of Class XII and Ms Shezana Thaseem J of Class X, expressed gratitude to the Rector, Principal, faculty and staff. Teachers Ms Deepa Karkada and Ms Shruthi S extended their best wishes for the students' future endeavours. Proud parents, Mother of Gianna Melosa Fernandes of Class XII, Ms Quinni Fernandes and Mother of Ms Shinead Fernandes of Class X, Ms Sharal Fernandes shared her experiences and expressed gratitude towards the management.

The ceremony commenced with a touching prayer service led by the staff, followed by Ms Tanuja Domber welcoming the attendees. Ms Sandhya highlighted the significance of light, symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment. After receiving lit diyas from dignitaries and teachers, students took a pledge led by the Principal, pledging loyalty and service to their alma mater. The staff bid farewell to the outgoing students with a melodious song. As a gesture of appreciation, the students contributed Rs.38,500/- and Rs.70,000/- towards the School Scholarship Fund. Ms Shilpa Ballal expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks, and the event was compered by Ms Vidya Esther. Program coordinators were Ms Shilpa Ballal, Ms Sandhya Manoj, Ms Jisha Thomas and Ms Deepthi Karkada. The ceremony concluded with a high tea session.
