St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated its 12th Annual Day for Class VI to Class XII on 16 December 2023, with the theme “Samanvay-Bridging Cultures”. Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal of St Joseph Engineering College Mangaluru was the Chief Guest, Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto SJ Rector of St Aloysius Institutions presided over the function.
The Chief Guest, Dr Rio D’Souza, in his address, stated that the education that students receive in this school is the tools that empower them to face the challenges of the complex world. He gave a call to students to discover their inherent values in them to help society in future life. Fr Melwyn Joseph Pinto SJ Rector, in his presidential address, congratulated and appreciated the progress of the school and said that parents should not judge their children by their marks but appreciate and encourage them to be global citizens.
Principal, Fr Mewlyn Anil Lobo SJ thanked the Rector, management and parents for their unflinching support and presented the Annual Report of the school with a video presentation of the activities and achievements of the school.
The programme commenced by invoking the blessings of the Almighty followed by the Welcome Dance. The toppers of the previous academic year 2022-23, CBSE South Zone Skating Champions, and CBSE South Zone and Swimming Champions were honored with a certificate and memento. CBSE National level Swimming and Skating Achievers and teachers who have achieved significant milestone in their field were felicitated.
The cultural event which was loaded with the riveting talents of the all the students from Class VI to Class XII, who enthralled the audience with a plethora of dances, skits, and orchestra highlighting the theme of the Annual Day. Special dance and
Vice Principals Ms Laurel D’souza ,Ms Aparna Suresh, PTA Vice-president Mr Abhilash Dominic, Programme Coordinators Ms Deepa Karkada & Ms Preethan Pereira Master Chinmay Sachidananda and Head Girl Ms Gianna Rodrigues were the other dignitaries present for the program.
The programme was compered by Ms Prishel Rodrigues, Ms Shelina Laxmidas, Master Shayden Pinto, Ms Shazana Thasneem J, Master Leroy Rodrigrues, Master Kevin Pinto, and Master Prakyath Yadav Suvarna. Ms Laurel D Souza Vice-principal welcomed the gathering. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Preethan Pereira.
