St Aloysius Gonzaga School organised the Annual Sports Day for classes I to V on 20 November 2023 at Pathala Ground. The programme started with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Mr Sonith Mendon, Athletics Coach and Fitness Consultant. After the Guard of Honour and raising of the school flag by the Chief Guest, the Gonzagaites took the oath administered by the Principal, Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ. A captivating display was showcased by the students of classes III to V. The Chief Guest declared the sports meet open by releasing a bunch of balloons. In his address, the Chief Guest, compared the students as unpolished diamonds with dreams, and asked the students to choose the right path to become polished diamonds. He also added that the path may not be easy, but never give up at the obstacles in the path. The Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ encouraged the students to participate in the various sport events and hone the skills in any one sport event, right from the childhood. He also added to celebrate fitness, stamina, sportsmanship and team spirit. Students participated in all the events with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Vice-principal Ms Aparna Suresh welcomed the gathering. Vote of thanks was delivered by Ms Reema D Souza. Ms Divya K compered the programme. The Annual Sports meet concluded with the Valedictory Ceremony wherein the winners of the various events were awarded and appreciated for their achievements.
