St. Aloysius Gonzaga School organized an educational session on "Digital Technology & Safety" for Class VIII students on 12 September2023. Dr Caroline P DSouza, a Consultant Psychiatrist from Falnir Health Center in Mangalore, served as the esteemed resource person for this event.
The session commenced with an insightful message by the Principal, Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ. He emphasized the significance of responsible digital technology usage while shedding light on its potential for both positive and negative impacts.
Dr Caroline P DSouza, drawing upon her extensive experience working with teenagers, delved into the nuances of mobile phone usage, internet activities like social media engagement, gaming, and online dating, and their effects on adolescents. She also addressed pressing issues related to cybercrimes and the inappropriate utilization of digital technology for activities such as browsing, viewing explicit content, and image manipulation.
The session reached its culmination with an engaging question and answer segment, allowing students to seek further clarity and insights.
The warm welcome of dignitaries was gracefully orchestrated by Ms Deepthi Karkada, while Mr Pawan Kumar extended his gratitude through a vote of thanks. Ms Jevita Fernandes compered the entire program.
