St. Aloysius Gonzaga School, Mangaluru celebrated Bakrid festival or Eid-al-Adha that literally means “Feast of the Sacrifice” on 1 July, 2023. The Chief Guest of the program was Ms. Bibi Hajira, a successful business woman and an alumnus of St. Aloysius College. She is also the proud parent of Arham Abdulla of class V C and Hania Kulsum of class IX B. The program started with a prayer followed by outlining the significance of the day by Venetia Shanice Mascarenhas of class X A.
A motivational video presentation on the theme ‘sacrifice’ was presented followed by an entertainment dance by our dear students. A collective PPT starring Science Week activities participated by all classes from class I to class XII were presented.
The Chief Guest of the program addressed the gathering by saying that Eid-al-Adha is an indication of unconditional love and faith towards God. Prophet Ibrahim was willing to sacrifice his own son as an act of obedience to God’s command. It was a true test of Love and Submission to God. She urged the students to have the same kind of faith towards the supreme power. The Chief Guest honoured the SOF and VVM winners. Principal addressed the students and motivated them to sacrifice a little and help the needy. The program was concluded by singing the State Anthem.
