Colours Day was celebrated by the Kindergarten section on 4 August 2023, at Gonzaga Hall with great enthusiasm. The hall was decorated with different coloured balloons and the colourful art and craft activities prepared by the students.
Dr Santosh T Soans, Prof & H.O.D, Dept of Pediatrics, A.J. Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangalore was the Chief Guest for the ceremony.
The event began with a short and beautiful prayer song sung by students from KG-II after which Master Shrihan Tilak and Miss Ava DSouza students of KG-II welcomed the gathering. The tiny tots from KG-II spoke about the significance of primary colours. Celebration began with a beautiful dance performance by Pre-KG students and was followed by the colour song on Primary Colors sung by the students of KG-I. Not to be left behind, the students of KG-II sang a song on Secondary colours and came together for a dance number, irrespective of their age, which was indeed an icing on the cake. The enthusiastic Parents cheered the little ones with their rapturous applause.
The Chief Guest Dr Santosh T Soans addressed the Parents about the nutritional values of food to be followed at this age. He also enlightened them about the ‘pros and cons’ of healthy and junk food. He appreciated all the students for putting up an excellent programme.
The Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo addressed the gathering and spoke about the role of colours in the development of the cognitive and motor skills of the children as early as Preschool.
Parents of Kindergarten section graced the occasion.Vice-principal and Kindergarten coordinator Ms Aparna Suresh introduced the Chief Guest to the audience. Ms Deepa Sequeira, teacher of KG-II B compered the programme.
The celebration was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Miss. Alishna Karkera and Master Yohaan Fernandes students of KG-II. Group photograph of each class was clicked with the dignitaries. Sweets were distributed to the students.
