The learning process is never-ending for every individual at the global level. A teacher though is a source of knowledge but makes it perfect through holistic education. Keeping this aim in mind, St Aloysius Gonzaga School, Mangaluru organized a training session on “Student Mentoring” on 25 May 2023, in the school auditorium. Dr Shalini Aiyappa, Head of the Department of Psychology, St Aloysius College was the resource person for the day. 65 staff members participated in this session enthusiastically. Every great achiever is inspired by a great mentor. It is more important to be a mentor than a teacher. Why do children need mentors? Which are the ten things every teacher/mentor needs to know? These aspects are very important and will be very much enhancing one’s knowledge, especially for a teacher, a mentor, or a guide said Dr Shalini Aiyappa.
In connection with the above topic we also had an enriching session on “Beautiful Brain” by Fr Sujay Daniel S.J who imparted a greater knowledge on Neuroscience behind motivation and the domains of brain development.
The session was compeered by Ms Ashwini Lewis and Ms Sandhya Manoj welcomed the gathering. The programme was joyfully gratified by Ms Shruthi.
