CBSE Sensitization Program on Financial Literacy and use of Digital Tools

CBSE has taken an initiative to sensitize teachers across the country on the basics of Financial Literacy and the use of Digital Tools that are relevant in the current scenario. St Aloysius Gonzaga School was selected as a lead hub school by the CBSE, New Delhi, to organize the training session which was held on 19 October 2022. The session mainly focused to create awareness about basic financial planning, how to avoid falling prey to phishing and cyber frauds etc. This initiative was also part of Activities related to the investor Education and Awareness Initiative in terms of SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996. Mr Vishal R N, a professional in Learning and Development was the resource person for the training session. He presented a lot of insights on the life stage planning of finance management, basics of a financial plan, fixed deposits, deposit insurance, different modes of digital payments, health insurance, securing retirement challenges, tips to increase savings, mutual funds and their advantages, National Pension Scheme and also how to avoid falling prey to phishing and cyber frauds. He also mentioned that the session was sponsored by Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund. The Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ appreciated the topics covered by the resource person and advised the teachers to plan, invest and spend wisely keeping in mind a well-planned financial structure for a better future. He also thanked the resource person for sharing his ideas. Teachers from Carmel School Moodbidri, St Agnes School, Mangaluru and Shri Sharada Higher Primary School, Shimantur participated in the session along with the teachers of St Aloysius Gonzaga School. It was indeed a knowledgeable and informative session. The dignitaries were welcomed by Ms Aparna Suresh. The program was compered by Ms Vidya Esther.
