Grandparents’ Day Celebration

September 15, 2022

It is rightly said that grandparents are the footsteps to the future.  They give unconditional love, warmth, kindness, support and teach us many important lessons of life. Grandparent’s Day gives us an opportunity to honor them and celebrate the connection between generations. They are a strong support and pillars of strength in everybody’s life.

A special day was dedicated to our wonderful grandparents at St Aloysius Gonzaga School on 15th September, 2022. This memorable day began by seeking God’s blessings. Dr Kasturi Mohan Pai, former Professor of Medicine, KMC, AJIMS and Govt.Wenlock Hospital was the Chief Guest of the programme. Mrs Usha Pai and Dr Kasturi Mohan Pai are the proud grandparents of Dhvani Ananth Pai of class I and Diva Ananth Pai of class Vl, studying in our school.

Dr Mohan Pai in his message conveyed the love and warmth shared between the grand parents and their grandchildren. He said that the best gift that any grandparent can give to their grandchildren is a HUG which also works as a medicine. He gave a live demo of the same by hugging 2 of the students from Pre-KG and singing a lullaby to them.

Principal Fr. Melwyn Anil Lobo appreciated the performances put up by the tiny tots of Kindergarten. He addressed the grandparents and said that life is a celebration and must be celebrated at all times. He also told that the grandparents play a very important role in the life of their grandchildren as they sow the seeds of love and nurture them to be good citizens of the future.

Ms Veronica D’souza welcomed the gathering. Adora Lorraine D’souza of KG-II read the significance of the day. The tiny tots put up an entertainment programme which included dance and action songs. The highlight of the day was the fun-filled spot games conducted by Ms. Deepa Sequeira which were enjoyed wholeheartedly by the grandpas and grandmas. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the spot games. Vice-principal Ms Laurel Dsouza, Kindergarten Coordinator Ms Aparna Suresh were the other dignitaries of the day. The programme was compered by Ms. Rashmi C. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.Averyl Rebello. Refreshments were served at the end of the programme. It was a cheery day for all the grandparents and the kindergarteners who went home with smiles on their face and a deep sense of belonging.
