Go Green Project July 2022-23

Say yes to all eco–green, to make earth beautiful and green”

St Aloysius Gonzaga School dedicated the month of July to a project on environment with a slogan ‘Gonzaga Go Green campaign’.  The culmination of the project was held on 29 July, 2022 with great avidity. The Chief Guest of the day, Mr Nitin Vas, Founder of Paper Seed, appreciated the beauty of The Western Ghats and said that we are lucky to be so close to mother nature. His explained the harmful effects of micro plastics and quoted “What we give to the nature, nature gives back to us”.

The Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo S J motivated the students to safeguard the Earth for future generation as there is no second Earth. He appreciated the students for their active involvement in taking the Go Green initiative to the next level.

Ms Manisha Preema Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Our adorable young dancers unified to showcase the importance of water through a dance performance. The students sang a special song on conservation of trees. A Mime show on conservation of trees highlighting the significance of sustainable and green environment was performed which was admired by all.

Prior to the finale, the Gonzagaites from Kindergarten to class XI were involved in activities like ‘Plant a plant and take selfie’ and ‘Gift a plant to a friend / relative’. A group of students from class VI to XI along with the Principal and the Eco Club teachers visited Center for Sustainable Biodiversity ‘ALVANA-ARBORETUM’ in the campus and contributed towards sustainable Biodiversity by planting three varieties of saplings.

The vote of Thanks was proposed by Shazana Thasneem J of Class IX A and Ana Nicole D Souza of Class III B compered the programe. Ms Shilpa R Ballal, Ms Divya K and Ms Manisha Preema Fernandes were the conveners of the programme.
