Field Trip Report - Class VIII

On 15 November 2024, all sections of Class VIII from St Aloysius Gonzaga School embarked on an educational field trip, with 124 students and six teachers traveling in two buses. The journey began at 8:30 a.m., and the group reached Dharmasthala at 10:30 a.m. The students visited the Car Museum, which showcased a fascinating collection of vintage and classic cars, offering insights into the evolution of automobiles. They also observed the elephants at Dharmasthala and explored the Manjusha Museum, which displayed ancient artifacts, rare paintings, and traditional crafts, providing a glimpse into the region's cultural heritage. The students also visited the Bahubali statute, a towering monolithic sculpture symbolizing peace, renunciation and Jain value which stands as an iconic landmark of Dharmasthala. After lunch, the group proceeded to the Rani Abakka Museum at BC Road. This museum highlighted the life and bravery of Rani Abakka, the valiant queen who resisted Portuguese invasions. Students learned about her contributions through exhibits of historical documents, weapons, and artifacts. The trip concluded with the group returning to school at 6:30 p.m. The field trip was both educational and enjoyable, offering students a deeper understanding of history, culture, and nature in a memorable way.
