St Aloysius Gonzaga School organized a session on 'Protection of Children from Sexual Abuse' (POCSO) on 24th September 2024. Mr K Nikesh Shetty, an advocate, was the resource person for the session. The session commenced with words of welcome and introduction of the resource person by our Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ. The resource person provided an overview of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace (POSH) and stressed the vital role of women in the nation's development. He outlined the various types of sexual harassment women encounter in the workplace and shared strategies for identifying and addressing such behavior. Mr Shetty also explained the significance of the POCSO Act, comparing the benefits and challenges of both the POCSO and POSH Acts. The staff members from various units of St Aloysius Institutions such as Primary School, Higher Primary School, ITI, Gents Hostel, Ladies Hostel along with Gonzaga School were part of this session. Ms Sowmya Rajan proposed the Vote of Thanks. The session was compered by Ms Preethi Pais. All participants received a participation certificate. Ms Deepa Karkada coordinated the event.
