July 31, 2024

On the occasion of the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola, seven students of Class XI participated in the Educate Magis Connected Classroom on the topic "St Ignatius of Loyola and Caring for our Common Home'hosted by Fr Gabriel Losambe, Galway, Ireland. Students participated in the prayer and reflections on the values from the life of St Ignatius. Participants were from Jesuit schools from Zimbabwe, the Philippines, the Democratic Republic of Congo,Tanzania and St Xavier's Boys'Academy, India. Participants from each school were invited to pose questions they would ask St. Ignatius of Loyola if he were present at their school. Our school posed the question: "As St. Ignatius of Loyola was a man who sought to find God in everything, how can one find God in destruction and war?" This profound question was eloquently answered by the moderator, Fr Gabriel, who explained that God, or goodness, resides in the mindset of individuals. The ability to perceive goodness even during the darkest times is a unique skill that must be cultivated and mastered. The meeting concluded with wishes for a happy feast and a closing song, bringing a harmonious end to the proceedings. Ms Aparna Suresh and Ms Deepa Karkada coordinated the event.
