
St Aloysius Gonzaga School organized a training session for students of Class IX on 19 August 2024 on the topic "Psycho-Sexual Development". Dr Shalini Aiyappa was the resource person for the session.
The session was initiated by our Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo S.J and he emphasized the significance of understanding and managing one's sexual development during this pivotal stage of life.
The resource person, Dr Shalini Aiyappa, Head of the Department of Psychology at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, delivered an insightful and informative session. She began by addressing the various physical, emotional,and cognitive changes that adolescents experience during puberty. She emphasized the normality of these transformations and the importance of self-acceptance and body positivity.The speaker concluded her session by encouraging students to be aware of their own boundaries and be assertive in their lives. She emphasized the importance of self-respect, self-acceptance, and engaging in responsible and healthy behaviours. She ended by inviting the students to ‘Engage in responsible and healthy behaviours'. Ms Sheethal welcomed the gathering, compered the program,and proposed a vote of thanks.
