“Colours are the smile of nature!”

Colour is a language without words. The tiny tots of the kindergarten section were introduced to the primary and secondary colours through various hands-on activities since June. The finale of the COLOURS DAY was held on the 22nd of July 2022, in Gonzaga Hall. The students and teachers were dressed in different coloured dresses and the children looked exceptionally beautiful in their colourful attire. The display of the activities done by the tiny tots was captivating and took everyone into a colourful environment.

Ms Swaroop Achaya Devaiah, Principal of Priyadarshini Montessori School, Mangaluru was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. The event began with a short and beautiful prayer song sung by the tiny tots of KG-ll after which Ms Sharlet Mathias welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. The tiny tots from KG-II spoke about the significance of primary colours so confidently and boldly which was impressive and appreciated by all. This was followed by the Colours Day song sung by the students of Pre-KG and KG-I. Not to be left behind, the students of KG-II sang a song on Secondary colours. Finally, the Kindergarteners moved their feet for a dance number, which was indeed an icing on the cake, left all the parents enthralled.

The Chief Guest Mrs Swaroop Devaiah, addressed the parents about the colours being the vitality and spice of life. She also emphasized the importance of reading at a very early stage in the life of a Kindergartner.

The Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo in his speech spoke about the role of colours in the development of the cognitive and motor skills of the children as early as Preschool. The Vice-principal Ms Laurel D Souza, Kindergarten coordinator Ms Aparna Suresh and the parents of the Kindergarten section were present on this occasion.

The curtains fell on this kaleidoscopic event with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms Veronica D Souza.
