"World Hearing Day" is observed across the globe on 3rd March to raise awareness on preventing deafness and hearing loss. As a part of the awareness campaign, a session on "Safe Hearing" was conducted for the kindergarten section and students of class VI to VIII, on 10th March 2022. Dr Rashmi Ananth Pai, Associate Professor and Head, Dept of Audiology and SLP, AJ Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangaluru, who is also the proud parent of Dhvani of KG-II and Diva of Class V along with her team conducted a session on'Safe listening habits among young children' and "How to take care of sound and voice". The session was presented in a creative way by singing rhymes and enacting a skit for the lower section whereas students of classes VI to VIII attended the session followed by interaction with the team of doctors. An awareness of do's and don'ts about the throat and ear was also emphasised so that students were sensitised about the right way of taking care of ears and throat.
