Report On 74th Republic Day Celebration

St. Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated India’s 74th Republic Day with great éclat. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. The programme began at 8.30am. The chief guest for the day was Commandant Gulwinder Singh, Officer-in-charge, Indian Coast Guard Academy Project, Mangalore.

The guest members were presided to the flag hoisting ceremony by our school band team and NCC Cadets. Our chief guest hoisted the National flag, the students saluted the National flag and the choir group presented the patriotic flag song followed by National anthem. 

Master Bhavin took up the duty of gracing the day by his compering. Welcome address was delivered by Ms. Shruthi Kishor. The school auditorium reverberated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm by our student’s cultural programme. Ancika Sheryl Pinto spoke on significance of the day. Video presentation for the day was presented by Ms. Deepthi Sahana Karkada. Ms. Aparna Suresh gave an insight on the various accomplishments achieved by the students and the teachers. Master Sathvik Sujir was applauded for bringing laurels to school by winning Gold medal in National Level CBSE Swimming competition. It was followed by Certificate distribution for British Council team members and prize distribution for teachers who had sports and cultural achievements.  

The chief guest addressed the students and urged them to do their best and feel proud to be Indian and accept the opportunities to serve the motherland. Principal of the school Fr. Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ, in his speech highlighted the importance of the Constitution and its unique features such as Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and Republic enshrined in the preamble of the constitution. Finally vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Gehena Mangaladevi.

The celebration came to an end by singing the School anthem. The students dispersed after snacks with the image of the fluttering tricolor in their mind and heart. May we continue celebrating this day forever!
