Kannada Rajyotsava

St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated the Kannada Rajyotsava with great zeal and enthusiasm on 1st November 2017.  Ms.Sabita Monis, Student Welfare Officer of Alva’s Institution, was the Chief Guest. Rev. Fr Dionysius Vaz S J, Rector of St Aloysius College Institutions, Mangaluru, Manager Rev. Fr Melwin Mendonca S J, Principal (Academics) Mrs Grace Noronha were the dignitaries of the day.

                                               

The programme began with a devotional prayer song led by class VIII followed by the welcome address by the teacher Mrs Aparna Suresh. The celebration was inaugurated with lighting of the lamp by the Principal Mrs Grace Noronha and the other dignitaries. The Principal in her inaugural speech highlighted the history of Karnataka and how the school has encouraged its students to familiarize with the regional language – Kannada. The Gonzagaites presented a spectacular programme depicting the culture of Karnataka through various dances and songs. The Chief Guest in her address emphasized the need to preserve and promote the Kannada language and culture of Karnataka. The President in his speech appreciated the dazzling performance that was put up by the students and also stressed on the unity of the people irrespective of religion, caste or creed , to broaden our perspectives in terms of maintaining a right attitude with people and the society at large. The Manager expressed his view on speaking different languages which illustrates the culture of our Motherland, India.  Ms Akshatha Kudla, the coordinator of the programme proposed the vote of thanks
